Regional MARC Train

• The region’s commuter rail system with 39 trains serving the Baltimore-Washington area

• This street-level system provides service with 32 station stops from the airport to downtown Baltimore, Camden Yards, Penn Station (Amtrak), and employment centers in Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties

Subway

• Operates on a 15.5-mile, 14 station system from the Owings Mills corporate and shopping complex in Baltimore County, through Downtown Baltimore to Johns Hopkins Hospital
• A new transit-oriented development project—Metro Centre at Owings Mills—is under construction around the existing Owings Mills Metro Station
• 8 subway bus lines to help connect commuters

Commuter Bus System

The Baltimore region also operates an extensive bus system. Many of the bus lines connect directly with the Light Rail, Subway and MARC train service, and are part of the entire public transit offerings in the Metro Area. In total, the Maryland Transit Authority (MTA) operates more than 50 local bus lines throughout Central Maryland via the following service:

• 22 commuter bus lines (spanning the entire Baltimore-Washington region)
• nearly 50 local bus lines throughout Central Maryland
• 4 express bus routes
