Embassies & Consulates

Embassies

The Baltimore region is within 40 miles of Washington D.C.’s “Embassy Row”—the stretch of Massachusetts Avenue between Dupont Circle and the National Cathedral. This provides the Baltimore region considerably close proximity to foreign embassies and other diplomatic installations, many of which sponsor public events to promote business and cultural interests of their countries. Embassy.org provides an extensive list of all the Washington, D.C. embassies with other links to the foreign embassy community.

Consulates

Trade with other regions of the world is becoming increasingly important, particularly for the Baltimore region. Restrictions and requirements of foreign trade, and understanding licensing, quotas, and tax regulations are pertinent when conducting global trade, and are specific to the particular nations involved. Foreign consular offices are the primary portal for which commercial and consumer questions on these topics are answered. With close proximity to the nation’s capital, the Baltimore region has access to consular offices for nearly every country. But the Baltimore region is also home to seven foreign consulates, as follows:
