Population & Income

With the region’s population projected to increase by more than 9% by 2020 from 2.6 million to almost 3 million, Greater Baltimore is well-poised to maintain its vibrant economy. Already, approximately 90 percent of Maryland's residents live in the densely populated corridor between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.—the 4th most populous CSA in the nation with more than 8 million people.

Greater Baltimore also outperforms nearly all of the 25 most populated metropolitan areas in terms of personal and household income.
