Thank you to those of you who joined the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore and Business Volunteers Maryland at our first LEAD Cocktails with Champions event with Calvin Butler, CEO, BGE on Thursday, April 16, 2015. (Check out photos from the event here.)
We had over 100 attendees! Thank you to our partners at Johns Hopkins University and FastForward East for hosting us and providing such a open and collaborative space to hear from our featured speaker on his own path to leadership and experiences in engaging, motivating and fostering collaboration among young leaders.
Here are some of our takeaways from the evening with Calvin Butler:
- Be intentional.
- Take calculated risks.
- Give back.
- “You can never steal too much education.”
- Mentorship is invaluable.
- Just because your career starts on a certain path, doesn’t mean you have to stay on that path.
We invite you to hear from another respected business and community leader on Thursday, May 14th from 5:30-7:30 PM. Regional President Greater Maryland at PNC, Laura Gamble will be discussing her path to leadership and why community service is so important.
LEAD was created by Business Volunteers Maryland and the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, and in partnership with UMBC Training Centers.
