Twenty-nine enterprise zones are located throughout the state. Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Harford and Cecil Counties are home to Enterprise Zones, with a total of 42,769 acres. These zones represent different mixes of industrial and commercial activity that will meet the circumstances and preferences of new or expanding business. There are ten enterprise zones in Central Maryland, ten in Western Maryland and nine on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Enterprise Zone Tax Credit
Businesses located in a Maryland enterprise zone may be entitled to a tax credit for wages paid to newly hired employees.
Real Property/Income/Focus Area Tax Credits
Property improvements and the creation of new jobs make businesses located in Enterprise Zones eligible for several tax credits.
