Anne Arundel County is located in the heart of the nation's fourth largest marketplace, the Baltimore-Washington D.C. corridor. It is home to the state capital, Annapolis, and to the U.S. Naval Academy, both major destinations for visitors. With over 500 miles of shoreline along the Chesapeake Bay, the county successfully combines natural beauty and rural charm with metropolitan sophistication.

The county's economy is strong, supported by a diverse set of economic drivers such as Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, world class private sector employers, and telecommunications, retail, and distribution operations. Key private sector employers include: ARINC, Booz Allen Hamilton, Computer Sciences Corporation, Corporate Express, General Dynamics, Johns Hopkins Healthcare, Northrop Grumman and U.S. Foodservice.
