JOB TITLE: Marketing Director

JOB SUMMARY

The Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore (EAGB), a 501(c)6 regional economic development marketing organization, seeks a marketing director who is passionate about the economic vitality of the Greater Baltimore region and has proven experience in developing and implementing strategies for effective marketing and communications collateral and delivery, including creation of original content and digital/social media. Experience measuring, managing and analyzing marketing performance, including understanding, working with and reporting marketing analytics – including Google Analytics – is highly preferred.  

The Marketing Director will work with EAGB leadership and staff to continuously update, revise, improve and manage a marketing strategy which amplifies the organization’s marketing impact on economic development by identifying and emphasizing the assets and opportunities throughout the region, expanding messaging platforms and reach (including social media, e-blasts, and web), and creating meaningful events for the organization which deliver both networking and informational results. The Marketing Director will collaborate with regional partners and stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and leverage both organizational and regional events and achievements. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Initiate recommendations which support the promotion of the Region and EAGB’s brand awareness through marketing activities, event management and public relations
  • Influence and work effectively across broad stakeholder audiences, including investors, partner organizations, media and community members representing private industry, government, higher education, and non-profit organizations
  • Continually update, revise, improve and manage a marketing and communications plan which includes, but is not limited to, writing, designing, and producing materials (e.g.: presentations, articles/blog posts, social media content, event flyers and programs)
  • Lead overall management, updates and optimization of the EAGB website, greaterbaltimore.org, including development and finalization of all published content
  • Lead and execute the online marketing strategy and analyze activity across social platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube), developing insights that will guide organizational activities, grow audience and drive engagement
  • Work with the EAGB team and existing CRM systems (MailChimp) to develop email marketing strategies that deepen customer relationships and drive conversions, ensure database quality, and grow audience
  • Measure and analyze marketing analytics around key performance indicators in order to maximize effectiveness and adjust organizational marketing efforts. Produce and present reports to EAGB leadership, staff and board regarding results and recommended strategic adjustments
  • Assist the COO in the management of and marketing strategies with EAGB’s Marketing and Communications Sub-Committee
  • Manage, organize and represent EAGB at internal and external events that support the organization and/or marketing strategy; providing, as applicable: exhibit and registration support, digital and print promotion, and event follow-up via online and offline strategies
  • Provide oversight and manage the work of the EAGB Marketing Coordinator and outside vendors/contractors (as applicable) to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Manage the marketing and events budget

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills
    • Creative with the ability to write for newsletters and social media platforms
    • Well-spoken and comfortable presenting/sharing ideas to small and large audiences
    • Experience providing written context/information graphics for analytical content and data a plus
  • Demonstrated history of developing innovative marketing solutions
  • Knowledge of current marketing trends and multimedia platforms
    • Experience managing paid social advertising efforts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
    • Experience with social platform management tools to track relevant statistics to guide business decisions (Google Analytics, Google AdWords, email platforms, digital marketing concepts, and digital platform architectures)
  • Experience with graphic design not required, but preferred
  • Event marketing and management experience
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to manage and drive multiple projects simultaneously and work with cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated with the desire to maintain a high level of accuracy and sound decision-making with minimal supervisory input
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing, modern, small-business office environment
  • Adaptable and confident in seeking input and receiving feedback
  • An efficient time manager; organized and motivated for continuous process improvement
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (master’s degree preferred) in marketing, PR, communications or business administration
  • 5+ years corporate marketing, agency and/or marketing consulting experience
  • 3+ years managing social media for a brand or similar relevant digital marketing experience; comparable experience may be considered
  • Salary commensurate with experience
