Baltimore Medical Device Startup CoapTech Raises $7M Series B Funding

CoapTech, a medical device startup co-founded by a critical care physician at Baltimore’s University of Maryland School of Medicine and a clinical innovation researcher, has raised $7M in Series B funding for its ultrasound feeding tube placement device, “PUMA-G.” CoapTech moved into in Port Covington's LaunchPort at City Garage last year, where several Baltimore medical device companies are also based. The new funding will help the company pursue sales and marketing after receiving successful commercialization support from University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) , UM Ventures , FDA clearance, and growth of use and validation including a clinical trial at University of Maryland Medical Center.
