BGE Gains Regulatory Approval to Allow Use of Renewable Natural Gas on System
Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE) has received regulatory approval from the Maryland Public Service Commission to allow use of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) in its gas distribution system. BGE is the first utility in the state to gain approval on its RNG system. The news comes as Maryland's first RNG plant, located in Greater Baltimore and owned and operated by Bioenergy Devco, nears completion in Howard County. Greater Baltimore’s energy industry is growing more robust as the Region’s wealth of assets in research and development increasingly include renewable energy.
