Local Students Receive Firsthand Look Into Future Technology and APG Operations

Inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders! Students from Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) recently received a firsthand look into future technology and Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) operations as part of a Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-Tech) program. The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) partnered in 2020 with the HCPS system and Harford Community College (HCC) to sponsor the P-TECH at APG program, which is designed to inspire and stimulate local students interested in STEM. Through the program, students can complete a four-year high school diploma from a HCPS and an associate degree from HCC in fewer than six years, effectively beginning college-level internships in the field of computer information systems or cybersecurity by the summer of their ninth-grade year.
