UMBC, and Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology's (IMET) are partnering for the Maryland fish farming effort project backed by a $1B investment from AquaCon - "… this new opportunity is a major step for us," said Yonathan Zohar, UMBC professor of marine biotechnology. According to the Baltimore Business Journal, the deal is expected to make AquaCon and Maryland more competitive in the global aquaculture market.
